Comments about Stamina Stamina EMR Conversion II Row-Bike:

This bike/rower is great in theory: it IS fairly compact and easy to move around (considering the size), the combination of bike and rower is great and I have used both and switched back and forth during long workouts. However, I have had many problems with the controls and features not working on and off since I bought it. Most problems related to the display. First it didn't work right, then they send me a new one that worked for 2 years and now it seems to have died again. Even when it was working the calorie counts and such were not very responsive to my changes in rate and effort. The pulse monitor (you hold the handles and it's supposed to display an accurate reading on the screen) was never even close to accurate (though I don't care about that very much). The dial to adjust the intensity did not work when it was shipped and all of the advice from the company was useless; eventually I openned the machine myself and fixed it. It has continued to work since then but it took a few months to get over that. At baseline the machine is fairly quiet (though slightly louder for rowing than biking) although something much have jiggled inside when I moved because now it's a bit noisy to use while watching movies. It slides easily once tilted on hard floors but is an absolute pain to move on carpet. Assembly is not terrible but with the various issues I had it took a long time.
The warrantee is a little useless too; they will ship you all sorts of things and try to talk you through issues over the phone but having someone come out to your house to fix something will cost you extra, having a tub like this shipped back to the company to fix is likewise very expensive. If there is a problem I hope you're good with a hex wrench and screwdriver.
Overall I like my bike/rower and still use it while watching movies. I would probably still buy it again because of the price range and I DO get what I wanted to out of it...but it has not been a smooth ride.

Like so many people, I bought an exercize machine then didn't use it .. until that fateful day when my doctor put me into physical therapy for being overweight plus a nasty back injury. And now I know what a real joy this machine is .. I can stay home and get the perfect workout. So I guess I'm spoiled now and loving it.

I love this machine! I use it daily, in the am 20-30 mins to row and 20-30 mins to bike. I increased the tension second week to "2" and I love it. I have it in my living room-small condo and it is nice looking and extremely quiet-just a "sshhh" of the pulley. I can workout with others watching TV and not disturb. This helps me get off my "tail" and I exercise 1-2 times daily, the pounds are beggining to shed! Nice all over body workout! Easy to move also!

This unit was the exact same one that Sharper Image was selling (Xmas 2007) for 30% less. The unit works great and I would recommend it save one thing and that is the seat. It is a bit uncomfortable nearing the end of a long workout. Other than that a top recommendation

Comments about Stamina Stamina EMR Conversion II Row-Bike:

I use both the rowing and biking features of this machine for cardiovascular exercising. The rowing also helps strengthen upper body and arms. However, this machine is made with a lot of of plastic parts that quickly wear out. It is so ironic that I received this request to review the machine on the very day the strap for the rower broke. My money would have been better spent on a the kind of rowing machine used in gyms and health centers.

The bike is easy to assemble, it is practically done for you so don't go looking for a big bag of screws and things. It is super quiet and the speeds are well calibrated. The recumbant aspect is comfortable and well supported. It is pretty sturdy and solid, you won't fall off under any circumstances. I use this bike/rower for cardio workout and weight loseI have lower back problems due to age and this bike/rower has actually helped improve the condition by stregthing and low impact. I highly recommend it...it arrived fast, complete and even looks good!!! The computer part of it could use a little tweeking, espcially the heart/pulse monitor, but other than that, a great buy.

Comments about Stamina Stamina EMR Conversion II Row-Bike:

Item is hard to assemble, not very adjustable on the chair so you might not reach the pedals good or feel cramped. The strength is weak so if you're looking to build muscle, this will not do it. It folds up but is still quite big and will take up a bit of room. Would be a good buy if it costs less but overall, it is not a good deal. Would only recommend this if it costed alot less.

Comments about Stamina Stamina EMR Conversion II Row-Bike:

The Row-Bike is easy to use. I can vary my work-out, converting from the cycling to the rowing operations, and not get bored with just one routine. I am able to work on different muscle groups and not hurt my joints or muscles in the process. That is important since I am 57 years old and have not exercised since the "Carter Administration". Over the past year it has helped me loose weight using a medically-supervised diet plan, and tone my muscles for better metabolism. I have lost a total of 67 pounds in an eleven month period. The rowing machine was recommended by my chiropractor to build my back muscles and has reduced my back pain. Since I can work-out in the privacy of my own home, I am not tied to a gym where I often feel self-conscious about my looks and technique.

My only suggestion is to be able to adjust the resistance more for the rowing portion. I had to gradually work my way up to full resistance on the cycle, but found I very quickly reached the max on the rowing machine setting. It would be beneficial to have greater resistance for more muscle building on the rowing routine.

Cons:

Bottom Line:

Comments about Stamina Stamina EMR Conversion II Row-Bike:

It folds up but is still quite big and bulky. Doesn't roll on its wheels well at all and the adjustment on it is small so if you're strong or looking to get strong, this is not going to be there for you. It is for easy riding and rowing, more for endurance and cardio training than strength training so not good for you guys and I'm a girl and I find it to be a bit weak. It is not worth the money.

There are two of us in the house that use the machine. My wife primarily uses the bike function for low impact cardio and I use a mix of the rower and the bike. Overall it's been great - it's quiet enough that you can watch TV while working out without disrupting the whole house.

The electronic monitor is pretty limited, but it tracks time, distance, speed, etc. so all the basics are covered.

Comments about Stamina Stamina EMR Conversion II Row-Bike:

I'm over the weight limit for the machine. Perhaps because of that, the rowing machine is a wobbly, noisy mechanism I've had to tie down.
Both parts are good, light exercise, though. I only wish I could work up to a tougher workout. The bike, on highest setting, doesn't even make me pant.

Comments about Stamina Stamina EMR Conversion II Row-Bike:

This product is fairly decent. I end up using the bike portion much more then I use the actual rowing portion. It doesn't offer much in the way of rowing resistence. When it's set to the maxium, the machine tends to lift off the ground if you row to hard and too fast. The seat is ok when you row but is too hard and quite uncomfortable when you switch to cycling. The heart moniter doesn't work well and the whole distance, calorie, speed calculator isn't very accurate.
It is easy to watch TV while biking though so it does function well in that department.

I do wish I could track multiple functions at once (ie time and speed) without pushing a button but this is a minor complaint.

My wife and I are overweight and know that a gym is not for us. This was a good choice to get two ways to exercise and do it at our convienience. The machine went together very easy. It works well and is quiet. I do find the foot rests awkward, I'm sure this was a trade off to make the pedals accessable. The pedal straps could have been larger as well. The machine is sturdy, we are both 300 lbs. and it is rock solid.

It's great, easy to use, has lots of fitness levels from out-of-shape beginners to advanced gym performers. And it is less expensive than medicines!!!

Unltil I got my rower, I almost never worked out. I've had it almost a week and have used it almost every day. It's easy to use, quiet, and offers me a way to burn calories and see my progress on the screen. I find myself looking forward to my time on it after work. If I could change one thing, it would be to have a softer seat or add pre-programmed workouts... I'm sure I will be happy with this for a long time... Perhaps by then Stamina will come up with a more advance features and a softer by then.

This machine is very uncomfortable and difficult to use. Even on the easiest setting, the bike is hard to pedal and I am in pretty good shape!

Comments about Stamina Stamina EMR Conversion II Row-Bike:

It is easy to set up and easy to use. Gives a nice quiet workout. The two cons I've had is when peddling there is no great position. I prefer a bike but it will work you out. Also I tried to use the rower to curl from the seated position which you wouldn't think to be a problem but there is a friction on the string that is not good on your machine.

[...] However, the goods inside were fine. This product was easy to assemble, and looks just like the picture. The manual was actually helpful, both for assembly and operation. It folds compact, and is easy to move.I use it about every other day, and depending on technique, I can work different areas of my body. I love the dual use: I will work hard with the rowing ergometer, continue my workout, and then cool down with good cardio work on the recumbent bicycle. The monitor works well, and is easy to use, with an easy-to-read display. The heart rate monitor appears to be accurate. The machine is comfortable and its operation is simple. The only two downsides are: 1) The foam handle covers on the handle don't stay on well. 2) The seat back, which is helpful for the cycling mode, prevents full extension to simulate rowing. I don't think this would be a good choice for a competitive rower, but it's a great fitness tool.I've lost about 10 real pounds in the last 3 months, and toned up a bunch of muscles that I never imagined I would be working. While I have had other exercise machines turn into clothes hangers, because I got bored or hurt with them, I will continue to use this one as long as it will last!

Comments about Stamina Stamina EMR Conversion II Row-Bike:

I got our Rower set up last Friday and finally got to use it Saturday morning while my wife and daughter were asleep. It was great because they did not hear me. We used to have an elliptical and it was a lot louder than the rower is. What I have been doing so far is alternating between the rower and the bike for 10 mins then the other for 10mins and back and forth. It is a great workout and I would definitely recommend the machine to anyone who likes to workout. Like everything else though you get out of it what you put into it. It is also the first thing I have been able to get my wife to do. She has done it everyday this week for 20 mins and she is getting higher on the resistance setting also.

Comments about Stamina Stamina EMR Conversion II Row-Bike:

This Rower/Bike was a great addition to my home exercise room with out breaking the bank. Four times a week for 20 minutes alternating between 5 min Rowing then cycling, keeps its varied and gets my heart rate to sustained average 130 BPM which is just what the doctor ordered.

The monitor display did not work for first 2 days, after two sets of battery swaps it just started working but it is cheap plastic and probably the only real draw back of this product.

My doctor recommended I get off a treadmill because of issues with my knees, and recommended I look at a rowing machine or recumbant bike. I chose this because it was both, which allowed me to alternate. It is everything it was advertised to be, and a great, competitive price.

Comments about Stamina Stamina EMR Conversion II Row-Bike:

This machine is great for working both the upper and lower body for muscle tone at the same time providing a really good cardio workout! The monitor needs to be redesigned - it is too chinsy! Feet sometimes slip off of the rowing pedals - maybe having a higher lip at the heel end would help. Overall I am very happy with this product!

Comments about Stamina Stamina EMR Conversion II Row-Bike:

This machine does the job considering the price. Have over 1000 miles on it and it's still going strong. The only complaint I have is that the screws on the back of the seat come loose every once in a while, once every four months or so, and they need to be tightened. Otherwise, no other complaints. Workout results are in line with what I expected.
